Using Ionic Detox Foot Baths Worldwide

Some customers love to detox while they travel, and there’s certainly nothing wrong with that. In fact, we help our customers embrace healthy living everywhere in the world. In light of this, one of the most common questions asked by our customers is “will my Ionic Detox Foot Spa work anywhere in the world?”

The simple answer is “yes.” However, it’s important to first note that there are two basic standards for voltage and frequency in the world. One is the North American standard of 120 volts at a frequency of 60 Hz, and the other is the European standard of 220–240 volts at 50 Hz. Both of these came about due to historical differences in each region.

Three of our machines — the single user IonizeMe Classic, the dual user IonizeMe Deluxe, and the dual user IonizeMe Premium — have a setting for 220-volt countries built in. For the others, there are two things you may need to convert them to work in Europe. We’ve outlined these below.

Voltage Converter

Also called “power adapters,” the voltage converter allows North American electronic items, which run on 120V current to convert to Europe’s 220-240V current. If you don’t have one of the above listed machines that has an adapter that covers both currents built in, you need a voltage converter that essentially “drops down” the current in Europe to one your machine can handle.

Plug Adapter

The plug adapter is a simple and inexpensive item the lets you plug your North American plug into another country’s or region’s wall socket. Most of continental Europe now uses the standard two round pin plug. The United Kingdom still uses a different plug with three prongs that differs from both the U.S. and Europe. Other countries may have their own adapters. In fact, there are a wide number of different-type plug adapters out there, each of which utilize one of the two aforementioned standards. One of these adapters is required even with machines that have 220-volt support built in.

Once you’ve procured the correct plug adapter (and the voltage converter, if required), you’re ready to detox while you travel!
