Types of Vibrations & Their Benefits
Inside of the vibration plate machine category, there are 3 different types of motions to consider when making a purchase.
The first and most popular is the oscillating motion. This motion acts as a see-saw allowing the vibration plate to go up and down pivoting over a center point. This up and down motion translates into specific benefits. Oscillating motion helps to increase lymphatic drainage, aid weight loss, and improve fast twitch muscles.
The second most common motion is the triplanar motion. This motion doesn’t move the vibration plate side to side, but rather straight up and down, as well as, forward and back. These variations of movements create a spiral type motion. This type of vibration has coined the term “tri-planar.” This motion is great for increasing muscle strength, bone density and more. You do have to be a little more careful though, because this motion is harder on the joins and body. That being said, most professional sports teams, rehab clinics and chiropractors purchase and used this type of machine prior to the introduction and affordability of the dual motion machines.
The last motion to be discussed is the dual motion. This is the newest style of motion and the most useful. Their vibration plate movement includes the see-saw oscillating and the triplanar motions at the same time. They also give you control to do one motion or the other when you want to. This level of control and movement enables all users to use the machine as intended for their specific needs.
